Audi A9 prologue concept sketches leaked

Sketches of the new Audi A9 concept automobile have surfaced online ahead of its official unveiling at the LA motor show later this week. believed to be called the prologue concept, the sketches portray a swooping two-door coupe rather than the stylish four-door first anticipated.
The new concept is developed to preview the brand’s new design language, with recently appointed design chief Marc Lichte at the helm. The cabin will also feature Audi’s new interior styling direction.
Following a teaser video revealed earlier this month, the sketches now give us our best look yet at how the concept is shaping up. The low and elongated two-door coupe adopts a similar profile to the current Audi A7 Sportback, with much more lavish detailing, heavily protruding wheelarches and a long, sloping bonnet.

Trademark Audi design cues are still present, however, found in the wide-mouth grille, sharp LED headlights and gaping air intakes. We know the coupe steps in at 5.1 metres long, 1.95m broad and 1.39m tall, with the concept reportedly based on the larger MLB platform, which also underpins models such as the Audi A8 and A7.
Although purely a design study for the LA motor Show, the A9 concept could develop into a production automobile by 2017, with a range-topping model likely to feature an updated version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the RS6 Avant.
We will bring you much more information and images following the car’s debut at the LA motor show later this week.
